Advertising & Disclosure Policy

Commercial content must be identifiable

Advertising, sponsorship and paid commercial features are separated from independent editorial work and labelled prominently using language a reasonable reader can understand.

Editorial independence

Buying advertising does not secure favourable reporting, product reviews, search placement, editorial links or removal of legitimate criticism. Editors control independent coverage and corrections.

Advertiser responsibilities

Advertisers must have the rights needed for supplied assets and must substantiate objective claims. Advertising must comply with applicable law and must not be deceptive, discriminatory, unsafe or designed to imitate independent journalism.

Affiliate relationships and products

A page containing commission-generating links discloses that relationship before or close to the relevant links. Reviews disclose material gifts, travel, product access or other benefits that could affect reader understanding.

Sponsored work

A commercial feature may be produced with an advertiser, but its paid nature is disclosed and factual claims remain subject to review. Sponsorship terms do not permit false claims or undisclosed editorial control.

Data and targeting

Non-essential advertising and measurement technologies follow the choices available through Cookie Settings and applicable law. Factelle does not provide advertisers with direct access to private newsletter subscriber records.

Enforcement

Factelle LLC may reject, pause or remove an advertisement that breaches this policy, creates legal or safety risk, or materially harms reader trust. Questions may be sent to advertise@factelle.com.
