Agreement and scope
By submitting or accepting a commission for Factelle, you agree to these terms unless a separate written agreement signed by Factelle LLC states otherwise. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication.
Originality and accuracy
You confirm that the work is original, accurate to the best of your knowledge and not misleading by omission. Sources, quotations, documents, data and supporting media must be genuine and fairly represented.
Rights and permissions
You confirm that you own or control the rights needed for the submitted material and have obtained necessary permissions. Identify third-party material and any restrictions before publication.
Licence to Factelle
You retain copyright in your original work and grant Factelle LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to edit, publish, reproduce, distribute, display, promote, archive, translate and technically adapt accepted work in connection with Factelle. Any materially different syndication or exclusive arrangement should be agreed separately.
Editing and editorial control
Factelle may accept, decline, edit, headline, illustrate, schedule, update, correct, archive or remove work. Changes may address accuracy, clarity, structure, style, accessibility, search presentation, legal risk or safety. We will seek consultation on substantial changes where reasonably practicable.
Disclosures and conflicts
You must disclose relevant employment, investments, clients, political activity, personal relationships, gifts, travel, product access, payments and other interests that could reasonably affect the work.
AI and automated tools
You must disclose material use of generative or automated tools. Fabricated quotations, invented sources, synthetic evidence, plagiarism and undisclosed machine-generated drafts are prohibited.
Confidentiality and privacy
Protect confidential sources and personal information. Do not provide Factelle with unlawfully obtained material or expose a source unnecessarily. Tell the assigning editor about legal, safety or privacy concerns before submission.
Payment and expenses
A fee, approved expenses, invoicing requirements and payment timetable exist only when agreed in writing before publication. Unsolicited work is not presumed to be paid. Contributors are responsible for their own taxes unless law requires otherwise.
Corrections and cooperation
You agree to respond reasonably to verification questions and post-publication concerns. Factelle may correct or update published work under its policies even if you are unavailable or disagree.
Ending the relationship
Either party may end future work. Rights already granted for published material and obligations concerning accuracy, confidentiality, rights, payment and liability continue as necessary.
Governing terms
