Corrections Policy

Our commitment

Factelle LLC aims to correct material factual errors promptly, proportionately and transparently. The decision is based on evidence and editorial standards, not the status of the requester or whether the correction is convenient.

Corrections

A material factual error is amended and accompanied by a dated correction note explaining what was wrong and what changed. We do not silently rewrite a material error in a way that conceals the original problem.

Clarifications and updates

A clarification improves precision where the original wording was accurate but potentially unclear. An update adds significant new information to a developing story. Labels are used where the change would matter to a reasonable reader.

Retractions and removals

Retraction is reserved for work that is fundamentally unreliable or should not remain published. Removal is exceptional and may be considered for serious legal, safety or privacy reasons. A notice may remain where appropriate.

Minor changes

Spelling, grammar, formatting and non-material style changes may be corrected without a note when they do not alter meaning.

How to request a correction

Email corrections@factelle.com with the article URL, exact passage, explanation, reliable evidence and any connection you have to the story. We may contact relevant parties or consult the original material before deciding.

Appeal or complaint

If you believe a correction request was handled inconsistently with this policy, email complaints@factelle.com and identify the original request and the outcome you seek.
